I was helping out earlier this week informing people about World Book Night where we encourage people to read. The staff from the Borough Libraries worked brilliantly to organise the event and engage with the general public. My role, (naturally enough) was to loudly proclaim about the event and encourage people to come and pick up a free book. The Windsor and Eton Express were kind enough to come and take photos (see page seven of this week’s paper) .
This event was particularly close to my heart as I used to work in a bookshop (Hammick’s in Harrow) and can honestly say I really love books. So, to spend an hour or so giving good quality beautifully printed books away to people was a real delight.
