This morning, following a great weekend at Ascot I noticed a missing button on my livery. Tomorrow I am due to be with the Mayor to celebrate the 40th Birthday of Maidenhead Library, and these big gold buttons cant be bought at just any local haberdashery.
Thankfully a quick visit to Tom Brown Tailors in Eton was all that was required to avert disaster. The owner of Tom Brown’s, is David Coulthard, and last year he designed the Royal Borough’s town crier livery for us.
David is smart as well as talented and had bought in a set of spare buttons ready for just such an occurrence.
Quick as a flash he sewed a new button in place and the livery looks perfect again. Thank you David, you are a star.
