I was honoured to be asked to start the Santa Dash in Windsor today. A crowd of a couple of hundred wonderful people gave up their Sunday to run 5km in aid of the Alexander Devine Childrens Hospice Appeal. Not only that, they did it dressed as Santa Claus! It was a fantastic site from the cricket club balcony in the Home Park as they set off on two laps of the park.

I had been given a lengthy list of ‘thank yous’ to read out before the start, but the Santas were so eager to get going that I had no choice but to give them a doublequick countdown and send them off on their way.

Mrs B and I have promised that next year we will join in the actual dash ourselves. A big thanks to the sponsers and volunteers and a huge well done everyone who took part.
