After a great weekend in Windsor the consensus was ‘the more gold the better’ and so the new RBWM town crier’s livery has gone back to Tom Brown’s the tailors in Eton for some additional bling.
David Coulthard, owner of the store that has been servicing the local community from the same premises at 1 Eton High Street since 1784 will be adding gold ribbon to the waistcoat and a hidden hook to the great coat to keep it in place. He will also tack the two layers of the cape together.
The need for these little adjustments only came to light through using the livery as it was intended, out on the streets, making proclamations and meeting and greeting the visitors and locals in town.
David is kindly turning these last changes around in double quick time as I have a booking with the mayor during the coming week.
