I was lucky enough to be asked to play a small role in both the Windsor and Maidenhead Christmas Lights switch on events over the last two weekends.
Windsor’s event included a lantern procession and carols by the castle and appearances from a range of talented performers. It had a lovely atmosphere and felt very festive.
The band and choristers really made a marvelous sound and with the location and new lights it really was a special evening.

Maidenhead had an equally enjoyable but very different feel. There were lots of stalls, a funfair and the promise of fireworks. It attracted a huge crowd and I spent the afternoon letting people in the high street know about where and when the events would be taking place. It was a huge and friendly crowd that gathered outside the town hall as a sun set. The noise was deafening when Basil Brush started interacting with the kids, but the undoubted highlight was the truly spectacular fireworks display from the town hall roof. What a terrific way to prepare for the coming Christmas season.
(sorry to say, I haven’t got any photos from the Maidenhead lights, but I do have lots of great memories)
