A real treat of a job this morning, Meeting legendary broadcaster Sir Michael Parkinson and announcing the winners of the Council’s Bright Ideas challenge.  Three borough residents were awarded prizes for their ideas to benefit borough residents.

Third place was Karen Appleton of Windsor who was commended for her Walk Wise Idea
of installing signs to promote walking and improve the health of residents.
Runner up Rachel Cook of Maidenhead entered a great wildflower planting project to help to provide a haven for wildlife.
In first place is Jeff Lloyd of Maidenhead whose prize winning Bright Idea is to have ‘midnight markets’ encouraging local retailers to sell their goods at special evening events.

Lots of passers by asked for photos and so it took a while before we could get away after the event was over.
