Windsor and Maidenhead Town Crier

Spring is sprung again

Town crier outside castle

It’s great to be back! There are few events to come out and shout about in January and February (and to be honest off season break is welcome, but on a sunny spring morning like yesterday’s it was great to be one more in my livery, crying in the streets to raise awareness of the upcoming national “wear a hat day” in aid of brain tumour research.

On Friday 27th March people are being asked to wear brightly decorated hats to support this very worthwhile cause.

I was accompanied through the morning by Doug from Ascot Top Hats who wore a natty pink top hat. He also brought along some pink ostrich feathers for me to add to my tricorn… As if I needed to be any more visible. We had a fun morning going up and down Peascod Street, handing out leaflets which hopefully will lead to many more people joining in with National Wear a Hat Day.
